The wind blew a couple of leaves into the air, blowing them around like they were in a miniature tornado. The leaves were brown, long gone from their bright green, and just about ready to crumple. The leaves blew around a tree, light and calm until rather abruptly they were dispersed and blown around wildly. A blur of white jumped around, a little mouth opening and revealing a long, pink tongue. And a small button black nose.
"Lisey!"
Danielle said, sounding exasperated but managing to laugh at her little puppy's antics. Lisa, or rather, Lisey continued to yap and nip at the leaves, her large ears flopping around. Danielle reached her, gathering the dalmatian into her arms and cuddling the wriggling energy ball.
"Agh! You need to slow down!"
Lisey whined and Danielle ruffled the puppies ears before setting her down. Danielle loved the little dalmatian but she had had to find out that dynamite comes in small packages the hard way. Her favourite pairs of slippers were no more, her jersey a new-found toy and oh boy, do I dare mention the cuddly toys we like to call cushions? But who could stay mad at those little blue eyes. So, to solve the problem, Danielle was taking Lisey out of the house and out onto the sidewalks for a long walk, but the roads were too dangerous. Their new solution? The forest.
Danielle combed her hair away from her face, breathing out heavily. She didn't mind the walks, but sprinting after such a vulnerable, cute thing like Lisey proved hard work. She was wearing a casual pair of jeans and a black top with no straps, which also covered part of her thighs it was so long. But it was a snug fit and comfortable for walking. Her hair was loose, some of it hanging over her shoulder whilst the rest covered what was visible of her back. Her alabaster-white skin was the canvas for the light filtering through the canopies, casting messy, leafy shadows over the pair as they moved further into the forest.
Who believed in those stupid horror stories, right? It was just fiction. Ha. In Haddonfield, those horror stories were real, which was exactly why a shiver ran down her spine. Until now her mind had been preoccupied with Lisa, but thinking about it now, she didn't feel so safe being alone.

Jack was wandering, both his mind and legs. He wasn’t exactly sure where he was going only that he was on the run. Officially on the run. His hands were still trembling as he struggled to contain himself. He’d stabbed Theo, it was accidental but he’s stabbed him, and after ringing the ambulance he’d fled the scene. And this was where it had lead him too, his secret hide out, his secret trail, or maybe not so secret but at least he could walk and think and hope that Theo hadn’t pressed charges, which he probably would have done because Theo hated Jack.
He wasn’t his usual self, he didn’t look cocky or confident, he didn’t even have a shirt on, he was only wearing what he had been in the dorm and that was some grey jogging pants. He’d managed to slip some sneakers on as he’d went out but grabbing a jacket was apparently too much for his brain to conceal after just stabbing a guy. His hand was stained too with blood, only that was from cutting himself. It wasn’t deep or anything, just superficial from when he was testing the sharpness of the knife. Everything which had happened today was beyond crazy and Jack didn’t even have a clue how long he’d been walking for, or ‘running’ for metaphorically. He wanted to curl up in a ball and die, to just have the life and air sucked out from him. It would be his dream, or if someone could come and kill him, painfully kill him, anything to just rid himself from the pain he was feeling inside now. He wanted Larrissa but what would she do when she found out her boyfriend had stabbed his roommate? Theo had said he needed help and maybe he did. The thought of going to the asylum terrified him, to turn himself in and ask for help. He shuddered at the very thought of it. It would be a nightmare and a half.
The sound of a somewhat familiar female voice ran loudly through the forest and Jack raised his head sharply as he followed it. Maybe she was with Larrissa she was probably one of her friends if he recognised the voice, even if he didn’t know her he would know of her and that would be all he needed. As her face came into view Jack paused slightly. He’d met her a few times and he was on somewhat of a friendly basis with her. ”Danni!” Jack called out loudly. It surprised him how shaken his voice was in comparison, he just had to stay calm. ”Hey, Danni, do you know where Larrissa is? I got in a fight with my roommate,” he explained. So maybe it would explain the blood, but usually when Jack got into a fight he wasn’t so shaken. Usually he would be cocky about the whole thing but now it was almost as if he was struggling to breathe.

Danielle looked over her shoulder, hearing shuffling somewhere in the distance. She started to chew on one of her nails, which she had tried to manicure herself. Of course, it was a beautiful disaster. Lisa whined and stood at attention, moving into a playful position and barking. Lisa whipped her head around, her tail wagging and looking as if she would just b burst from excitement. Danielle looked in the direction the little puppy was looking, her eyes widening as soon as she saw who it was.
Jack?
She responded to his loud call, calling her by her preferred nickname. Why did he look so distraught? Danielle frowned, walking a few steps forward to meet him. He flung a question straight at her and she could figure that something was wrong. His voice was shaky and his hand was covered in blood, which she only noticed then.
Christ! You're bleeding.
She looked at him, surprise and shock etched into her expression.
I saw Larrissa but that was a couple of hours ago. I don't know where she is now.
Combing her hair away from her face, she had to pet Lisa on the head, who was bounding around Danielle's legs.
Jack, breathe, buddy. What's going on?

Jack shook his head, trying to get the blood comment out of the air, only he was having difficulties when it came to communicating himself, he felt too panicked and too frantic. Jack heaved a deep breath as he tried to calm himself. He’d never actually realised the temperature until now, it was a bit chilly or at least he had goosebumps on his arms, it was frightening how he’d taken off without so much of a jacket. ”Don’t worry about it, I did it myself by accident. No worries, it doesn’t hurt.” he tried to explain but the idea of telling her that in fact he’d took a blade to his hand just to test how sharp it was really didn’t make him feel any better. It would just make him look like an idiot and that wasn’t what he wanted or needed right now, people couldn’t fear him. ”Oh right, that sucks.” he admitted. Larrissa would know just what to do, and without her he’d end up doing something rash like admitting himself to Smith’s Grove. It wasn’t what he wanted but it was the only thing he knew.
Jack reached for Danni’s hands, as he gripped them inside of his own. He flinched slightly as his cut touched against her skin. She probably wouldn’t want the blood to touch her but he needed to tell her what was going on, she’d asked and he would be honest. Sort of, to an extent. ”Me and Theo got in a really big arguement,” Jack admitted, ”And I was cooking breakfast, and anyway I picked up a knife and that was when I accidently cut myself...” he tried to focus. She would run away from him if he said the wrong thing, sounded psycho. ”Anyway he started to get scared, so I took advantage of it and tried to scare him a little, I swear that was all what I wanted to do, scare him. But he got in the way and I ended up stabbing him. I think it’s superficial but either way...” he grimaced. He’d stabbed someone. What kind of guy stabbed someone?! He tried to focus his attention on Danni, his clammy hands holding onto hers tightly as he tried to refocus his trembles. "I'm not dangerous though, you're not scared of me, are you? Please don't be."

Danielle watched Jack, wanting to speak but also not wanting to crowd him. He looked bedraggled and she just couldn't figure what was going on with him. Had someone attacked him? Had he just been witness to something? Whatever the hell was going on, Danielle wasn't completely sure if she wanted to know, thinking about it now after asking. She sucked in a breath as he held her hands in his. She felt the blood begin to trickle into her palm and as much as she wanted to squirm out of it, she kept her brown eyes focused on his. Gritting her teeth, she listened to his story. Slowly her mouth gaped open and her eyes widened.
Danielle felt like she was going to start babbling if she opened her mouth, so there was a bit of a pause as she swallowed but her brow pulled together at his question.
Scared? Oh, Jack, no.
She said, her voice not pitching at all despite the restriction in her throat.
Where is Theo? Did you call an ambulance?
Danielle asked, not having the news completely sink in but her senses alerted her to the fact that Jack was here. With her, not with Theo. The guy had just been stabbed, where the hell was he? Her mind didn't race, in fact, it was quite numb with the news, but she kept her cool as much as she could.
