YOU can't KILL the BOOGIE man! [/blockquote]*
*TELL ME WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE
Name :: John Aaron Tate
John's name was specifically picked during his mother's pregnancy, John his father chose as after John F Kennedy and Aaron after his mother's childhood best friend
Nickname :: Johnny, as in johnny apple seed, Joe like sloppy joe, Ron like ronald regan, and Tate much like his last name. John dislikes all of his nicknames, and he prefers to be called just John
Age :: Eighteen years old, and he would much rather be twenty-one. Though for the time being, to him, eighteen is a pretty decent age
Sexuality :: Heterosexual, he only likes females in that manner
Clique :: Jock or Rebel, but mostly Rebel to me because he seems to be the rebellious type. He's going against all that his mother believes in, after all
*LOOK IN THE MIRROR
Overall appearance :: Dark brown, sometimes seen as black, hair, and he some of the time wears it however it happens. Though, most of the time he wears his hair spiked, but only so it's out of his face. His eyes are a dark, dark brown color, and they most of the time seem black. Skin is slightly tanned, but for the most part this only comes from his constant work in sports. In body build, John is well known for being athletic, and he is lean, muscular, and strong looking.
Though, John mostly dislikes most of his attributes, he tends to like his body build. His hair and eyes aren't at all to his liking, but he doesn't hate them either. Others see his eyes as alluring, in some cases, for their depth, and his hair for the most part looks to others as touchable. For the most part, people find his body to be attractive because he obviously works out, but most of the time people notice a combination of his attibutes. Most of all, John just likes to know that he's attractive, and he tends to enjoy the ways that people see him.
playby :: Josh Hartnett
*I THOUGHT I KNEW YOU
Overall personality :: I would have to say that outwardly, I'm more of a go getter about everything. I tend to let my pride get the better of me around people, and I don't really seem to care about much of anything. Sports has always been a big things, but I would have to say that most people believe this is because I like being on the center stage. Though really, I must seem like such a crack when around others, secret keeping, untrusting, silent a lot, and quite the jock-head. Not much else gets towards people. Though, I kind of hope that Theo knows me better than just anyone does.
Inwardly, I don't really know how to explain myself, but for the most part I'd have to say a lot more complicated that people know. I tend to keep secrets so that I'm not seen as a complete freak, but mostly about my mom and uncle. Then I'm pretty silent because I don't have much to say to people, and I don't trust most anyone. I like to do sports and run for the reasons that I don't like to listen to my mom, I don't like to think too much about much of anything to do with my uncle. I'm kind of just curious, prideful, pushy, and set in ways that I've had for years. Not much else to say about myself.
Likes ::
- Sports; because it gives him his own personal escape from reality, and he doesn't have to think about the crazy things his mother believes in
- Running; because he doesn't have to think about anything when he runs, and he can just be
- School; because it's a major escape from his mother and her strange ways of thinking
- Partying/fun; loves to just get out, and do whatever he wants, even if it is for just one night
- Scary movies; loves to watch horror movies, and see all the crazy things that his mother thinks his uncle is capable of
- Eating; though it's kind of stupid, he loves to eat good food, but he tends to eat out more than in
Dislikes ::
- Mother's myths; hates the things that his mother believes that her brother was capable of
- Silence; like doing nothing, John hates silence because there's nothing going on. Hates boredom.
- Nothing to do; for the same reason as he hates silence
- Stupidity; hates those who act like the end of world can happen at the drop of a dime
- Failing; hates to fail at anything he does, has quite a lot to do with his pride
- Pride; hates the times when his pride stops him from doing things that he'd like to do or needs to do
Hopes and dreams ::
- Becoming famous for a sport
- Proving his mother wrong
- Possibly having a family
Strengths ::
- Pride
- Athletic
- Street-smart
Weaknesses ::
- Pride
- School
- Mother/Father
*BACK THROUGH THE PAGES
Family :: John has a pretty much sports oriented relationship with his father, and both know it. If he does well in sports, then their relationship is good, but do bad and he has problems. Their relationship pretty much hangs on that thread, and they both realize it though do nothing about it. His mother-son relationship is a bit more complicated. The two have a strong connection, but the thing that pulls them apart is the fact that his mother has so many crazy ideas about John's uncle. John has problems getting close to her without thinking about all the wild things she believes in. John doesn't know his uncle, and he has no idea what to believe in about him. He refuses to believe what his mother tells him about his uncle.
Pets :: John has had no pets in his life, but his parents have wanted him to remain focused on his own dreams, not an animal
Hometown :: Haddonfield, Illinois
Overall history :: Born the only son of Laurie Strode and Alexander Tate. John's parents didn't marry, but they still remained in the same home. At birth, he was highly protected upon by his mother, who was more than a little paranoid about her brother, and the father was more than a little worried about the woman he'd fallen for. Regardless, John was raised a relatively happy child. Sure, his childhood was full of weird rules and regulations on how he acted and lived, but he was pretty happy about most everything.
As his childhood went on, John began to question the rules that his mother set upon him, but he didn't begin to break them right away. Slowly, he began to see just how strange his mother was, and he then, and only then, he began to break her weird rules one after another. It didn't seem like a big deal as the years went by, but his mother got angrier the more rules he broke. Finally, he got to the point that he broke one of her major rules, no celebrating halloween. After that rule was broken, he was grounded for a very long time, and he got the story behind the rule. It was supposed to scare him, and at first it did. Though, as time wore on, the story began to seem very farfetched, and he stopped believeing anything his mother told him about his uncle.
Teenage years passes more slowly, but he still has yet to trust his mother fully by only what she says. It would probably take quite a lot for him to trust what anyone says, and he tends to keep to himself because of this fact. It isn't that he's afraid to trust, but more than he isn't sure if he should. Secrets are his best way of knowing for sure about people, and he tends to keep a lot of things to himself. Like about his mother, and the fact that she's been in the loony bin for a long time.
*COME AGAIN
Anything else? :: Not really
Roleplay example ::Pat-pat of feet was all that John Tate heard. He was running that morning, like he did every morning, and he loved it. That was his time to just be, but not in the way that most people thought. No, running wasn’t something he liked to do to gain attention. Running was just for him. When John ran he didn’t have to think about problems, the past, or anything, but it was just him and the road. Nothing else to it. It was just time for him to just go, and he could release all the pent of up rage, sadness, or whatever. It was just time for him to go, and he it was something he could do whenever he wanted. There was no time limit to running.
Coming to a stop, John was back at his house, and he was short of breathe. He’d ran to the outside of town and back before he even thought about stopping. That was his morning routine before he thought of doing anything else, but he wasn’t too strict on himself about it. Running his fingers through his hair, he sighed, and he shook out his hair before taking off towards the front door in a slow walk. No, he didn’t keep himself to strict to the daily thing, but he usually ended up doing the same thing everyday. Not that he minded. Walking through the house without a word, he wasn’t disturbed, his father was already at work, and he just made his way silently up the stairs to the bathroom. A shower was always great after a run. Always. Not that he personally stunk, but he wasn’t all for getting to school feeling like he’d just gotten out of basketball or football practice. Nope, that just wasn’t a plan for him.
