Ashley frowned slightly as Jack asked her to stay a while longer. Was he in that much need of company? Or did he have something else in mind? Ashley didn't like dissobeying her parents, but she decided she was going to keep Jack company for a little while more. "Fine. I'll stay." she told him with a friendly smile. Before she could go on, he was leaning in close to her. His arms around her waist. Holding her there against him. She chuckled. Quite the scene. If someone walking by saw them, they would have thought it was a scene out of a comedy movie or something. Ashley and Jack covered in pond slime, holding onto each other, Jack in nothing but his boxer shorts. Since he was holding her around the waist, Ashley smiled lightly and wrapped her arms around Jack's broad shoulders. Aware of how close they were. Ashley was temped to kiss him, but she knew he had a girlfriend. It wouldn't be the right thing to do. It would be a selfish thing to do. "I don't know what you have in mind, but might I remind you, you have a girlfriend." she explained softly to Jack, as she broke out of his grasp. She didn't want to deal with his girlfriend if something did happen between them right there and then in the park. She looked down at her wet clothing and giggled. "Do you want to go grab an ice cream or something? I'd love to see people's faces when they see us covered in pond slime." she explained to Jack. Of course, it was better if they waited until they got dry. Ashley's car www.gruce.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/bmw-next-generation.jpg had leather interior, and she didn't want to get it ruined.

Jack raised his eyebrows as she reminded him he had a girlfriend and instantly he felt himself leave go of her. That was him told. ”Usually I don’t get rejected before I’ve even tried something,” Jack frowned roughly, taking it as what he said. Rejection. It came in many different forms and this one seemed to be one of the more warning ones. According to Theo everyone knew he and Larrissa were having problems, apparently not. ”I understand though, you wouldn’t want to mess with Miss Queen Bee. I couldn’t imagine what would happen if you did that.” he mocked her. If he was honest he thought this whole monarchy thing was a bit bland and boring but he did care about Larrissa and he wasn’t about to take her thrown away from her. Despite them both having their difficulties together they were a strong unit and he did care about her. He’d Jack laughed along with her, ”Erm sure, sounds good... I guess I should put some clothes on.” he wandered over to his wet jeans and began to pull them onto his legs. Wet clothes were a pain to get on but if he was going for ice cream, of all things ice cream, he should probably not be naked. ”I knew I’d be able to get you wet,” Jack scoffed, more to himself than to her and even if she didn’t appreciate his joke, he did. ”All right I’m ready. We walking?” he asked as he pulled on his shoes. ”I’m not sure if these were designed to wear wet... I’ll set a trend I guess.” he mused playfully. What a night.

Ashley didn't show her dissapointment when he let go of her. Sure, it would have been nice to kiss him, because she had a feeling that's what he was going to do when he had his arms around her waist, but, like she had said, he had a girlfriend. It was better that they hadn't locked lips. It would cause all kinds of problems. Not only for Ashley, but for Jack and Larissa.
So Ashley flashed him the best smile she could muster, and waited as he got dressed. The ice cream parlor wasn't too far away, they could walk it. She could leave her car parked at the curb in front of the park, and just have Jack walk her back after the ice cream. She would feel a little uneasy walking alone now that it was completely dark outside. A light breeze shook the leaves in the trees overhead, making the shadows dance.
Ashley rubbed her bare arms, shivering slightly. It wasn't the warmest night. But they would be dry by the time they got to the ice cream parlor. Ashley smiled over to Jack once more when he proclaimed he was ready. She had been watching him put on his wet clothes with a smirk playing on her pretty face. She waited for him to catch up, and soon enough they were walking side by side along the park path.
"So you do this often? Take a dip in the park's pond?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at him. She let out a slight laugh. She was just egging him on. "Seriously though, I had a nice time. I haven't done something fun and stupid like that in a long while." she explained to him. They walked, their footfalls echoing off the path. Ashley listened to the leaves ruffling gently above their heads as they made their way towards the entrance of the park.

Jack made an easy run by her side as he carried his valuables. His phone and wallet, his lighter and cigarettes. He didn’t want to put them in his wet pockets, water damage was too risky. Plus it was easy to carry them anyway and gave him something he could hold in his hand. ”Not that I don’t,” he admitted. ”I was passing and I fancied a swim. I figured there was no need not to take advantage of the pond. It’s probably more hygienic than any pool you can go to, and more private.” he said explaining its advantages. Jack placed his cigarettes and lighter into his pocket and raised his free hand to touch his hair. It felt gross and slimey and he cringed at the texture it felt. Although he wasn’t worried that he looked bad he was slightly worried about what was going on with his hair and that was possibly one of the only downfalls of the pond. ”I think I’ll be needing a haircut after tonight,” Jack proclaimed as he lead the way to the ice cream.
Usually he didn’t like to spend money on food that he didn’t need. Ice cream was something in his opinion that he didn’t need. He didn’t have the cash to do that and as much as he pretended he did it was quite the spiralling lie. Every piece of funding he spent now was coming out of his college tuition and he knew that by the end of the year there would be no where near enough to get him to college. Maybe then he could just call it his savings account. Jack walked into the ice cream parlour before Ashley, never one to hold open a door for a lady like a true gentleman would. He glanced up at the menu, this was far too American for his taste, and he’d never been here before but he would try it. He glanced through the prices, he’d get the cheapest one but then his eyes turned to Ashley. Would she be expecting him to buy her one too? He didn’t bother to look around the room to check the reactions from the other people in there, they would probably be scowling that he was wet. ”Ash, what do you want?” he asked her, this wasn’t an offer to pay, he was just curious.

This was kind of nice. Just the two of them out walking. Moving down the sidewalk, side by side. Heading for the ice cream parlor on Main Street, which was only a few blocks away. Enough time for them to dry, hopefully.
Ashley listened to their footfalls in the silent night. Not many people were out tonight. They had the sidewalk to themselves, almost as if they ruled the streets. Ashley raised her chin towards the sky as they walked. And then she startled when a cat came tearing out of the bushes ahead. A black and white spotted thing that sped across the street and dissapeared underneath a car.
Ashley brought a hand up to her chest. "Jeeeeez. That was heart attack time." she said to Jack. Hoping he wouldn't laugh at her. They kept on, walking in silence until the blue and pink neon sign of the ice cream parlor broke the darkness around them. Ashley found a smile playing on her lips as they moved to the door. Ashley blinked softly as Jack walked in, not even bothering to keep the door open for her.
She shrugged and followed Jack inside. Blinking against the bright fluorescent lights. Shivering a little in the frigid air. Goosebumps formed on her arms as she rubbed her arms. The way Jack was looking around, it was obvious he wasn't going to get anything, or pay for her. "I'll have mint chocolate chip double scoop in a sugar cone. And you? Do you want something? It's on me." she told him, pulling her wallet out of her purse.

Jack gave a light smirk to Ashley after she got afraid. Being the reckless boy that he was it took a lot to surprise him or shock him, most surprising shocking things came from humans rather than from animals or something. It was strange walking with Ashley, very strange. He really needed to take a shower and have a smoke but he doubted she would appreciate it. She would probably be a none smoker like Theo who complained about his lungs and their lungs and completely overreacted beyond relief that by the time they’d finished their rant he needed another tab. This place was really quite tacky but it looked like somewhere Larrissa would like. He’d take her one day.
Jack raised an eyebrow up at Ashley. Who did she think she was, trying to buy him something. He was quite surprised because usually no one offered with his high money reputation, usually he was expected to get in the rounds. ”You’re not my date, I can get my own, and if you were my date it would be me buying.” he stated coldly, and he was feeling quite cold at the time he said it. With being wet and the night air it wasn’t the most promising for feeling warm. ”I don’t think Larrissa would like it if she found out I was buying some random girls ice cream for her,” he added as an after thought as if to provide a reason for him not buying it. That one was the lesser reason, the other one was a lot more selfish. He looked at the guy behind the counter, Jack was probably one of the most pond smelliest annoying customer he’d had, or at least he was taking forever to reply. He looked down at his murky hands, he should probably wash them before he ate anything but then again what would it hurt. ”I’ll have the same,” he responded, he couldn’t be bothered to look too much. If it was gross he could just blame Ashley, if it was nice he could thank her.

Ashley blinked softly. Like ice cream, Jack was being cold. But he had a point. If she had a boyfriend, she would find it a bit odd if he was buying other girls ice cream. It was just ice cream though. No, they weren't on a date, but Ashley was just trying to be nice. She shrugged lightly, holding onto her wallet as they waited for their ice cream.
When it was finally ready, Ashley paid her ice cream for herself, and made her way to one of the tables so they could sit. While waiting for Jack to join her, she pulled her blackberry out of her purse and texted her friend, Natasha. The message read:
U'll never believe who I'm having ice cream with. Jack Banner. Pretty random, huh?
- Ashley.
She sent the text message, and put her phone back in her purse. She took a lick from the ice cream, yummy. If there was anything she loved, it was ice cream. Sure, it wasn't the key to her heart, but, it was close enough. She looked up as Jack made his way to the table. She smiled at him as he sat down in the seat across from her. "It's good. You'll like it." she told him, indicating the ice cream.
She sat back in her chair, crossing her legs as she took another lick from the ice cream cone. "So tell me about your girlfriend." she said to Jack as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. She knew he was with Larissa. She didn't personally know her, but she was aware that she was quite possibly the most popular girl in school. She was the Queen B.
Elsa had challenged Ashley to dethrone Larissa, but she wasn't too sure if she could. It was possible it would cause problems. Ashley wasn't the type to go seeking out drama. She was tempted to accept Elsa's challenge, but she wasn't too sure just what she would have to do to dethrone Larissa and take her spot as Queen B at Hillcrest. Ashley considered herself popular, just not as popular as Jack's girlfriend.

Jack took the ice cream from the man behind the counter, picking up the cone with a tissue so it wouldn’t touch his sticky hands from the park. He begrungedly handed over the money and followed Ashley, taking a seat in the booth as he stretched out alongside the seat. ”I’ll bet they don’t want us to touch anything, we’re gross.” Jack mused. He wished his jeans would hurry up and dry but that was the problem with denim it always took a while. He glanced at the ice cream as she mentioned it. He wasn’t too big on ice cream, he didn’t mind it but he wouldn’t go out of his way to get it, it wasn’t his favourite. He licked it allowing the taste to swell in his mouth. ”Yeah, it’s not too bad. Spiffy.” Jack mused as he put his belongings out on the table, the temptation to smoke panging inside of him once more. He leaned out to spy his reflection in a mirror and grimaced. ”God, I really do look gross.” Jack observed with a sigh, ”I think I’ll grow my hair a bit.” Was it right for him to be paying so much attention to his own appearance and very little to Ashleys. He glanced over at her, weighing out the situation. ”Then again I look better than you so people will probably ignore my scruffy wetness and focus on yours,” He commented sarcastically. He knew Ashley was proud of her appearance and that was why he couldn’t help but knock it.
He got comfortable once more, slouching backwards as he relaxed. Jack raised an eyebrow as she asked him to tell her about Larrissa, what was that for, he wondered? She was probably another one of her wannabes who wanted to know inside information so she could be just like her. Jack rolled his eyes, that definitely was probably the case. ”What about her?” He asked curiously. ”We’ve been dating for two years, she’s junior.” Jack scowled softly, ”You consider yourself a prep, shouldn’t you know who Larrissa i?” He asked sceptically.

Ashley took another lick of her ice cream. Raising an eyebrow at Jack. She knew who Larissa was, she just never really spoke to her before. "I know who she is. I just don't know her personally." she explained to him. She followed Jack's gaze into the mirror. She was drying off slowly. Her clothes were still stained with pond scum. She couldn't wait to go back to the dorm and take a nice long, hot shower.
With her ice cream almost done, Ashley took a glance around. People were looking over at her and Jack. Were they dissaproving because they were covered in pond scum? Probably. They'd probably have to give the booth a good cleaning after they left. Ashley chuckled softly to herself.
She let out a little sigh of contempt. Her ice cream was done. She wiped her mouth with her napkin, and looked down at her watch. "I should get going." she told Jack. She still had stuff to do around the dorm. She had to clean her room, do laundry, and take that shower of hers. Plus, she was sure Jack had plans of his own.
They shared a dorm anyway, from what she heard. She had yet to see Jack there, but she had found out from Theo that she, Jack, Libbi and Theo were all room-mates. Ashley was still getting used to living with two teenage guys. She stood up, slinging her purse onto her forearm. "Thanks for the interesting night." she told Jack with a nod. It had been interesting, that was for sure.
"Do you need a ride?" she asked Jack, tossing her long golden locks away from her face, with a slight movement of her head.

She was always making excuses and it was really starting to bore him. ”Whatever, Barbie,” He said with a roll of his eyes. It wasn’t really necessary for her to have this continuous guard up, like she was constantly afraid or something. He couldn’t be bothered with it, he preferred wilder girls. Jack shrugged. ”Don’t thank me it was you who intruded in on my night.” Jack mumbled, and it was her who’d ruined his plan by taking him here rather than letting him enjoy his swim. He raised an eyebrow up at her, ”Actually I don’t trust getting in a car with a female driver. Either I drive you or you’ll be going by yourself. Girls are shit drivers,” he said with a roll of his eyes. He occasionally went in the car with Larrissa or his mom when she was around but that was as far as he would go.
