He had been hearing a bunch of stuff on campus the last few days. Even coach had seemed on edge lately. Practice today had been especially tough as a result. After taking a shower, John made his way up to the dorms and decided to wait on starting his homework. He had about an hour before they would start serving dinner so he decided to get comfortable. Kicking off his shoes, he stretched out along his bed.
He wanted a few quiet moments alone, a chance to get his head around things. People kept saying that Michael Myers had killed those students. He felt it was a copycat rather than the real thing. As much as he didn't want to admit to himself, admitting that Michael really was alive and as evil as some people said meant that he was capable of the same things he'd done. It also meant his Mom was in the asylum for no reason.
He lay back against his pillow. Crossing his arms behind his head he closed his eyes for a moment. It didn't seem like his eyes had been closed for too long when he opened them again. John heard the door open and looked over at his friend, "Hey man, wassup?" He liked Jack. It made things weird for him though, especially with Theo around. But he still liked the guy. He refused to think that Jack was dangerous or crazy or any of those things. The two of them were too much alike for him to feel otherwise.

Jack had been out for a little while. He’d missed daddy’s practise but with good cause only, he was testing him. Now that he knew Mitchell was his dad, and he apparently wanted to be a real dad to him, he was testing the boundaries. Usually if a guy missed practise he would get detention, cut from the team, or otherwise screamed at. Before Jack knew about Mitch he used to get that but now he wasn’t so sure. Mitchell had a lot to make up to him and he felt it was necessary to test the air, to see if he would be treat differently from everyone else. So far he was yet to hear from Coachie so he supposed that was a good sign, at least he wasn’t benched anymore. A years worth of benching was enough to kill him almost but things were getting a little better now that he could play a little. As soon as he’d pushed Mitch far enough to bench him again Jack would start smarting his act up.
He walked into the dorm, a soft smirking lining his features as a familiar voice filled the room. ”Woah, is that Mr John Myers!” Jack teased loudly, his voice joyful to see his friend who he hadn’t seen in quite some time. Jack always insisted on calling John John Myers, or occasionally Strode, he didn’t mean to upset him but he always liked to joke with people. ”How you doing, man? Haven’t seen you in a long time.” He recalled before making his way over to John in a few quick strides. He sat pushed John along and crawled into the bed, another temptation to not pass up on a joke taking over him. ”It’s been too long man,” Jack snorted as he made an attempt to put his arm around John. It only lasted for about a second or two though before he quit his act and sat up, glancing down at John. ”Sorry, can’t resist being an asshole every now and then.” he stated blankly, slight amusement edging in his tone.

”Woah, is that Mr John Myers!”
He hated when Jack did that. He knew it was only in fun but he said, "Shut the fuck up, Banner." There was an edge to his voice that he hadn't intended despite his eventual continuation of a smile. It had taken him a while to warm up to Jack, for Jack to bring him out of his shell but once he had John couldn't help but find his friend's antics hilarious. And if not hilarious then at least he got a laugh out of him. Only thing about Jack, you sort of had to be ready for anything. But having a friend like that was good for someone like John who kept himself so tightly wrapped most of the time.
”How you doing, man? Haven’t seen you in a long time.”
"It has man, you miss me?" John teased back with a wide grin. He was not surprised that Jack sat on his bed but he was caught off guard when the other saddled up next to him in bed and tried to cop a feel or something along those lines. He threw the obligatory warning out there, "Get off me man." He pushed against the other jock with his elbow. Not with the intention of hurting him or anything. They were just having fun.
”It’s been too long man,” Jack snorted as he made an attempt to put his arm around John.
"Dude..." John said with a laugh as he shook his head.
”Sorry, can’t resist being an asshole every now and then.”
"You're not an ass bro." John said and he meant it. He knew some people though Jack was too much to take but John sort of understood better than most where Banner was coming from. He worried about him, especially when he missed practice, "Coach was pissed when you didn't show for drills." He didn't want to come across as a prick or like he was trying to be Banner's mom but this was important, "You gotta show up if you want to play. You're too good to be benched man."

Jack shrugged. He didn’t know why John was so sensitive about the killer in his family. Jack’s dad was an ex model, in Jack’s opinion they both had it pretty bad, only Jack’s dad didn’t go and kill John’s brother. He frowned for a moment, pausing in his activities. It was lame really, he couldn’t imagine how his friend felt, how his entire family was plagued by blood and lost because of one person. If John ever had a child they would be at constant risk more than anyone else, but Jack didn’t like to get sentimental and his paused reflections didn’t last very long. ”Naw, Theo banged on about your ugly mug enough,” Jack teased. He and Theo hadn’t really spoken much about John, except for Theo telling Jack to keep John out of his Halloween plans. Who else could he use for bait, Laurie was locked up! Jack rolled up from near John, choosing to sit this time at his request. ”Hey, dude, when we say dude it totally sounds like we belong in a Bill and Ted movie! How cool is that!?!” Jack exclaimed excitedly. Bill and Ted were his ultimatum heroes. Hands down.
He rolled his eyes at John’s friendship statement. Usually people were glad when Jack called himself an ass, it left them the job. He didn’t care either way. ”Yeah well coach can be pissed all he likes,” he sighed. John was a good football player, and hearing him talk like that made him feel a little bit guilty. Only Tyra and Larrissa knew the truth about Jack’s real dad. He found it easier talking to people about deep things when he was sleeping with them rather than his friends, somehow it just didn’t feel too right discussing with John but not telling him made Jack feel bad. Maybe when he got his head around it himself he’d feel better. He sighed. ”I was thinking of quitting the team anyway, I’m not too much into sports now.” he admitted as he glanced around the dorm room. ”Where is everybody?”

”Naw, Theo banged on about your ugly mug enough,” Jack teased.
John nodded with a sly grin. Typical Jack, trying to dog Theo when he wasn't around. Theo was his best friend. He wasn't going to say anything against him. There was no point in teasing or joking around with Theo when he wasn't here. It wasn't like the two of them couldn't spend hours talking about nothing or whatever when they were together. The main difference between Jack and Theo was that Theo didn't hesitate to get deep on occasion with him and had his back. With Jack he wasn't so sure some of the time where he was coming from.
”Hey, dude, when we say dude it totally sounds like we belong in a Bill and Ted movie! How cool is that!?!”
"Pretty cool, but does that make me Bill or Ted? I'm taller than you so technically that means I can call Keanu." He wasn't sure if that other guy had ever done anymore movies. If he had they had failed to cross his radar. Keanu had a few cool movies, like the first Matrix, Speed, and maybe Hardball and definitely a most excellent adventure thrown in there for good measure. Yeah, if he had to choose one over the other he'd definitely be Keanu.
”Yeah well coach can be pissed all he likes,” he sighed.
John smirked. He had to call his friend out on that one. All bullshit aside, they alll knew who had the ultimate power when it came to playing, "Whatever. You know if he said to piss upwind, you would." He laughed for a moment before withdrawing back into his thoughts. There had to be something going on with Jack, something more than the few things he knew about him. Things neither of them liked to talk about, all joking aside. He would be the last one to object when Jack seemed to want a change of subject.
”I was thinking of quitting the team anyway, I’m not too much into sports now.” he admitted as he glanced around the dorm room. ”Where is everybody?”
"It would suck if you quit man." John admitted. Jack made him laugh with his crazy antics. He'd miss having that around. Not to mention that Jack was just good, one of the best on the team. He nodded, thinking to himself for a moment before he said, "Not sure where they are. It is quiet today." He sat up too. He wasn't going to ignore Jack while he was here. No nap for John, not today. He sighed, not really wanting to broach the subject but feeling like he should say something about it, "Been quiet since the other day." He couldn't wrap his mind around it. He was sure it wasn't his uncle again. The Boogeyman only came out to play on Halloween. So it had to be someone else. It had to be.

Jack let out a loud sigh at John, the idea of being Bill was less than appealing. He was just so small, with the curly blonde hair and he was so skinny. Then again Ted had strange hair and less than appealing clothing. He couldn’t really member much about each individual personality except for the fact that they were both cool dudes who could go travelling around time. ”You’re only about an inch taller than me, Bill’s a shrimp.” Jack moaned. He must have only been about 5’4, this would have to become a proper competition he was thinking. There was no point in taking second best when he could fight John for the top place. A sly grin grew on his face as he dropped the subject for the time being. He would have to watch the film and come up with how he had more redeeming qualities for the best one.
Jack couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. The amount of admiration some of the boys had for Mitchell was kind of sickening, even if in a way he did feel kind of proud. Mitchell said he was proud of having Jack as a son, it felt weird adapting to a son/father bond. ”I would not do anything of the sort. I’d piss downwind just to piss him off!” Jack argued. ”You and Theo might be pussy whipped for Coachie but I’m on a different level!” He stated arrogantly. Maybe this would work out for his best. Coach owed a lot to him, pretty much a whole life’s worth of fatherhood so maybe he could use it to his advantage and grow maybe popular amongst the guys that his coach had once humiliated him in front of. Maybe he could win them back and own them like his girlfriend owned the prissy girls.
Jack shrugged, he was barely at practise nowadays anyway. ”I know it would. My position on bench would be sadly missed,” he said sarcastically. Coachie had promised him a place on the team from now on but Jack was still willing to test him. ”Anyway Coachie’s corrupt. He only benched me because he and my dad don’t get on. He was hitting on my mom so my dad beat him up one time.” Jack explained to John. So it didn’t exactly go like that but it was close enough and it wasn’t only his coach who was corrupt. ”The other day?” Jack asked slightly cluelessly.
